M/Y AETEA EX AL SAID I 41m – 353 GRT
1981 – Builder & Origins
Crafted in 1981 by the venerable Picchiotti shipyard at Viareggio, M/Y AETEA EX AL SAID I bears the signature of a classic craft lineage, designed by Arthur de Fever with interiors by Bob Byron. Just under 41 m (133′ 10″/40.78 m), with a beam of 7.85 m and a draft of approximately 2.5 m, she measures 337 GT. Her makeup: a displacement steel hull, aluminium superstructure, and teak decks. A major refit in 2014 refreshed both systems and style.
Today, M/Y Aetea, a distinguished Picchiotti of the early 1980s still gracing the seas, embodies a mastery destined to endure, conceived to transcend generations and to inscribe her owner’s legacy upon the sea.
Performance and Exteriors
ENDURANCE & DECK LIFE
Powered by twin MTU 12V4000M53 diesel engines (1,850 hp each), Aetea cruises at about 14–14.5 knots and can reach 16 knots. Her fuel tanks of around 39,000 litres grant her a cruising range of approximately 2,500 nautical miles.
Driven by twin MTU 12V4000M53 diesel engines delivering 1,850 horsepower each, M/Y Aetea maintains a cruising speed of 14 to 14.5 knots and attains peaks of 16 knots. With fuel reserves of nearly 39,000 litres, she ensures a range of about 2,500 nautical miles, embodying both endurance and refined engineering. Beyond performance, her teak decks unfold as luminous stages for life at sea: shaded dining alcoves, open-air lounges and sunlit terraces create an atmosphere where tradition meets leisure, and where the horizon itself becomes part of the experience.
